Into more PCs that's when Microsoft decided "oh no, we can't have them supporting animated GIFS as wallpapers, it might crash everything!"? It's contradictory in more ways than one for the fact that the wallpaper themes bundled with Windows in Vista and 7 So in previous versions of Windows when computer technology was primitive compared to today Microsoft thought animated wallpapers weren't too taxing on the system, but when the advent of higher processor speeds and graphics chips started making their way And I hope your concern can be addressed with a new service pack or a new Windows version in the near feature. Animated gif as wallpaper windows 7 windows 7#
Considering the high system resource usage of animated desktop, Windows 7 has removed this feature to meet the most computer hardware configurations. Windows 7 does not support animated desktop background. Microsoft has no workaround to get it to work. And may their arms be too short to scratch!īased on my knowledge, You can add it but it will be presented as static not animated. May the fleas of a thousand camels feast happily on the lower regions of your enemies. This GIF to work and see if it's possible to have a download-free workaround. I know about apps like dreamscene and such, I just want Last Tick High and Last Tick Low are available in the same folder, but are defaulted to 0 and I left them that way (if that has an effect). However this didn't affect anythingĪnd it still only changes every 10 seconds minimum. I then ran regedit, and set the desktop slideshow interval to 250 milliseconds, or 1/4 of a second I believe, and various other numbers just to check if there's a minimum. I split my GIF of choice into frames, and have about 40 pictures in a folder. I saw a potential workaround but can't get it to work. I know Windows 7 does not play animated GIF images as a wallpaper like it did back in XP days. Hi! Not sure if this is the right forum category but a previous post of this got me pointed here, so let's hope.
